K9Haven Rescue, located in Broken Bow, Nebraska, is dedicated to the rescuing and rehoming of dogs and cats with special needs, seniors and other homeless dogs and cats. We work closely with numerous rescue groups to assist these pets that have been thrown away...hopefully giving them the chance they need to find caring and loving homes.
We are looking for loving and caring homes for not only our young, healthy dogs, but also our senior and special needs furbabies who deserve a second chance.
K9HAVEN Rescue, Inc. began about 2003 to help rehome one old dog. At that time I felt there was a real need to help other dogs find new, stable homes, where they would be safe and well cared for, for the rest of their natural lives. Many of the dogs are in need of rehoming due to changes in the life of their humans and through no fault of the dog.
All of the dogs and cats that come to K9HAVEN Rescue are spayed or neutered, receive all their vaccinations, are heartworm tested and placed on preventative if negative. Also provided is veterinary care for any existing medical conditions and dentals if needed. They are kept in a private home with interaction with other pets. All pets are placed as indoor only pets and secure fencing is required. Adoption application, personal references and vet references are required. Next will come a home visit by K9HAVEN Rescue, or a volunteer in the prospective adoptors area.
K9HAVEN Rescue, Inc. is a not for profit public charity. All donations, bequests, devises, transfers or gifts are tax exempt. Please consider us for your tax exempt donations - so little will go so far.
K9HAVEN Rescue wishes to thank The Steve J. Glogovsky Fund of the Lutheran Community Foundation for the initial support in getting this rescue off and running. Over the years, and especially during the economic down turn, their continued support has helped countless dogs find new homes. We will be forever grateful.
If you are interested in being a foster home, please go to adoption application and fill out as if for adoption. In the initial information please type (or write in) "application for foster care". The more volunteers we have, the more animals that can be saved.
